“'In December, The California Sunday Magazine released an issue dedicated to the world of teenagers. In the photo essay 'Hanging Out,' Magnum photographer Alessandra Sanguinetti offers a sweeping look at the ways teens across California spend time together, away from adult supervision. On the cover, a group of friends in San Jose take a selfie. To capture the photograph, Sanguinetti met the girls at a boba shop and transformed it into a makeshift studio. The striking composition frames a familiar activity in an unfamiliar way: We see only the girls’ faces on the phone screen." What I am picking up from this picture is showing is that people are too focused on their phones to much and are not seeing the bigger picture. I think they could of made this better by taking it with a background of a beautiful sunset, showing that people would rather show other people what they are doing then rather live it.
